History

If one wants to have a clear window into South Africa's dark past, then the UNESCO world heritage site Robben Island is the place to visit. This served as a prison for over 100 years by the Dutch. Its famous inmates include Robert Mugabe and one of South Africa 's founding fathers, Nelson Mandela. The South African Jewish Museum and District 6 Museum are a great way to get a sense of the country’s history, as it's a known fact that South Africa did not become a rainbow nation overnight.

For instance, if you are a hiker, Table Mountain is for you as it has three hiking trails that enables you to enjoy the greenery of the mountain trees. Moreover, the top of the mountain gives one 360-degree view of the city exposing you to the beautiful landscapes.
